NET 2300 - Introduction to Networking and Cybersecurity Credits: (3) Typically Taught Fall Semester: Full Sem Typically Taught Spring Semester: Full Sem Course Fee: $20.00 Course Fee Purpose: Course fees are designed to cover the costs of lab equipment maintenance and replacement including desktop and server computer systems and software; consumable materials and supplies; and support for lab aides, student tutors, and online instructional resources. Description: This course provides students with an introduction to the principles of computer networking and cybersecurity. Covered concepts include network topologies and design, network models, networking protocols, cybersecurity concepts, physical media, network addressing, equipment, basic cryptography, LAN management, network operations, troubleshooting, network attacks, and defense strategies. Pre-requisite(s): CS 1030 or NET 2200 . Pre-requisite/Co-requisite: NET 2200 .
