Social & Behavioral Science (AS)

  • Program Prerequisite: No special admission or application requirements are needed for this program. 
  • Minor: Not required
  • Grade Requirements:  A grade of “C” or better is required to fulfill the Major Course Requirements. A minimum WSU GPA of 2.00 is required.
  • Credit Hour Requirements: A minimum of 60 total credit hours are required, including all General Education requirements and at least 22 credit hours from the Major Course Requirements for AS Degree.  Students should complete elective courses outside of the program requirements to meet the 60-credit hour minimum.

Advisement

All Social & Behavioral Sciences (SBS) students are required to meet with a CSBS Advisor during their first semester in the program.  Advising appointments can be arranged through www.weber.edu/socialscience.

Admission Requirements

No special admission or application requirements are needed for this program.  Declare your Program of Study using the Program of Study app in the Wildcat Portal, and make an appointment with one of the College of Social & Behavioral Science Advisors.

General Education Breadth Requirements

Student may not duplicate department for General Education Breadth requirements (courses with HU, CA, SS, PS, LS designations).  Courses taken as part of the Discipline Tracks may count for one (1) Breadth requirement at most.  Courses in other departments must be taken to complete any remaining Breadth requirements.  The CSBS Advisors can answer questions about General Education requirements.

Major Course Requirements


Complete one (1) of the SBS Intro Courses OPTIONS, three (3) of the SBS Discipline TRACKS, and the SBS Capstone Course.

SBS Intro Courses (3-4 credit hours)


Complete one (1) of the following OPTIONS:

Discipline Track Courses (18 credit hours)


Complete three (3) of the SBS Discipline TRACKS. Each TRACK is 2-3 courses.

SBS Capstone Course (1 credit hour)


Complete the following course.
